Here's proof that excercise is a good thing

So today I couldn’t handle how messy my home was and so I was forced to excercise instead of staying home. I dutifully put on my pedometer and set out on a long walk. At approximately 5500 steps, I ran into a library big-wig, who let me know that I was being transfered to the downtown branch in the children’s department.

So not only did I learn last week that I’m keeping my job, but I’m moving up to the big league! Very exciting, though I’ll miss my current branch.

And my house is still gross.



Success is all about setting the correct goals

So for the last couple of days I’ve been wearing a pedometer. Just to see what a typical day at work is like and such.

Last night, I came home and changed into my jammies. I moved the pedometer and forgot to take it off before going to sleep. This morning, my pedometer was significantly higher. I think it totally counts.



Went for a walk

this morning and I made up a new ‘game’. I counted all the bird nests I saw, which forced me to keep my head up. I tend to slump and keep my focus inward, which isn’t the healthiest thing for me. If it isn’t unbearibly cold tomorrow, maybe I’ll go for another walk and break my ‘nest record’. Today I saw 19.



Taibo

is less satisfying than boxing. Particularily because I look like I’m doing the chicken dance.

Which reminds me, a friend told me that if you don’t do the chicken dance at your wedding in Midwest, you aren’t legally married. Man, if Idaho was considered the Midwest, I wouldn’t have had to go through that divorce thingee.



I took a free boxing class!!

I was dubious.

My friend asked me to accompany her and for some crazy reason I said ‘Yes’. It was at a small-ish boxing gym in Mpls. They had a free intro class that consisted of learning some punches while lookin at yourself in a HUGE mirror and practicing with a partner who wore those flat mitt-things.

I loved it. I am completely shocked. I could barely move my arms the next day (knitting hurt!), but I’ve found out that my Bally’s has a similiar-type class and I’m going on Saturday morning!!!!



Today

Went for a morning walk
Played gently in the pool with the boy
Played bocce ball and shuffle board at 1.5 hours (my five year old demolished me!)- for me this counts as excercise



Joined a different local gym

So my mother and I have joined the same gym. We are going to go together on Tuesdays before the boy returns from Papa’s. It’s about 5 blocks away from my home, so it’s really close by. We just joined for the Summer to give it a whirl. We are going tomorrow at 11:00am.



Not a whole lot of entries here

I went for a walk today. Somehow the lure of the gym is not calling out to me.
