So I finished my boy’s orange sweater with the cabled ‘robot’ or ‘monster’ on the front. It took me so long it was a bit small, but still wearable.
Yesterday morning, when I suggested that he wear it. He said that he’d wear it at home, but not out in public. He’s five. Sigh.

I finished my sister’s scarf before she arrived in town. It’s really pretty. It was a seafoam pattern using silky sock yarn. It’s various shades of dark blues and purples with moments of golden yellow running throught it. Lovely.
I don’t think it’s really my fault that I started something new. Noro came out with Silkgarde sock yarn which arrived at my store the last week before going to the lake. Not my fault at all. I’m knitting on 2’s so it will go really fast. Not my fault in the slightest.

Monday we were comparing lists of UFO’s at the yarn store (Unfinished projects). I was in the middle at 8, but two people had about 35!!! One co-worker had only 2 and we threw various implements at her.
Noro Socks (one to do)
Monster Sweater for the boy (just needs seaming)
Red cabled jacket for the boy (lots and lots)
Purple Hempathy cardigan for me (lots and lots)
Cabled Grey Malibrigo cardigan for me (lots and lots)
Rainbow child’s cardigan (one sleeve and millions of ends)
Felted Noro bag (needs handles attached)
Seafoam scarf for sister (blocking and fringe)

I’ve got one sleeve, ends, and buttons left on the cardigan and the dreaded and wretched Fair Isle hat. I’m gonna do it!!!

The baby cardigan is past the hump. It’s a crazy hard pattern. Kinda like Zimmerman’s baby surprise jacket, but on crack.
The end is in sight.

Sleeves are definitely lost. The only place they could possibly be is in a box of books. That’s the only thing I have left to unpack from my move last August. (I haven’t bought bookshelves yet.) I really, really, really doubt that they are in there. I think the only way to find the sleeves is to burn the body and let Murphy’s Law take hold.
So for now I’m crossing this one off the list and I have moved on to the labryinth rainbow cardigan for my friend’s baby. Since it’s been a year since this project was conceived I must up the sizing, but there was still yarn at my store for it – so yea me!. I’ve cast on and worked the first four colors – probably about 40% of the body is done. It’s going well.
After this one, it’s down to the fair isle hat!

So I’m down to three projects – none of which I want to do of course – that’s why they are the last three projects.
So I overcome my inertia and pull out the “green Hempathy lace sweater that something went wrong with the last sleeve” to finish up AND I CAN’T FIND THE SLEEVES. Now I wasn’t so upset with them that I would have burned them in a bonfire or driven them to the dump or anything. Honest. Really.
I really can’t find them. So what do I do about this challenge? I don’t have enough yarn to reknit the sleeves, there is no more of this dye lot, and the sweater would look really dorky with short sleeves. This is a knitting nightmare.
What I really want to know is: If I throw the whole thing out, can I cross it off this list?

I got a message from my friend who I sent the cardigan to. (Wow. What a badly written sentence) She sounded really touched.
Oh yeah, I’ve strayed again and have almost finished a pair of socks knit with Online Tropical. It’s new and really fun. I think I’m going to drop them in the mail this week as a surprise for my sister.
