give away 50 things I don't need

I had two stacks of magazines that I had never read – but of course I was going to – on the floor by my bed. They had been there for 4-ish years. They survived two moves. But I’ve given them away. I’ve given them away to the recycling plant. I feel so free!

(I must confess that I did keep 5 of them, but I promise to recycle them if I haven’t read them within one week)

Bless me 43 Things, for I have committed a knitting sin.

So my immediate boss at my internship had a birthday recently. Last week my mother gave me four pairs of handmade socks that she had finished, but didn’t want to wear. On my way to work, I realized that I needed a present for my supervisor. I grabbed a pair of socks and stuffed them inside a small Christmas lunch box. AFter I gave her the present, she asked, “Did you knit these?” Without a moment’s hesitation, I said, “Yes.”

I am a bad, bad person. (I told my mother what I had done and she laughed.)

I always keep a pile of books that I’ve read that I don’t want to keep to either sell or give away. Lately I’ve been pondering getting rid of the rest of my books. Most of them anyway. The thing is, I moved into my house about a year and a half ago and didn’t have any bookshelves. My books stayed in their books and went up to the rarely used second story (long story there) If I get some bookshelves that’s where they will go. So here I am, 1.5 years later and I haven’t done anything about it. So why do I have them? I would keep ones that the boy would like as he gets older and a few select favorites, but do I really need them? Any advice you guys have would be lovely. The real rub is, I’m a soon-to-be-librarian…

I returned 4 books to co-workers that they lent me last Summer. The really bad thing is that a) I never read them because b) I hated them. When I returned them they asked me what I thought. .... Yikes.

I packaged up a box of old toys and Babybug magazines to send to my friend and her 8 month old baby. I’m glad these magazines will be enjoyed another child. I love getting this stuff out of my life! Off to the post office…

Today I returned three books to the yarn store that I have not read or even opened. I orginially got them for a school project, but changed topics. I don’t need them, don’t want them – they are out of here!

I gave away….....a potty chair!
