go to cosmetology school

I was working on my manequin last night and 4 hours went by without my noticing. I love doing hair. I finally found the job that doesn’t feel like a job!

I attended my orientation for cosmetology school on Thursday night. I was quite nervous and excited about the whole experience. There were about 20 of us and we all sat in a classroom and learned a little more about the school and about our program. We ordered our supplies (brushes, combs, irons, etc..) and a pair of scrubs. I ordered medium scrubs because that was recommended to me by a teacher; however, I purchased a pair of scrubs in large that night because mediums were out of stock and found that I will probably need a large top after all. The large bottoms swallow me though. I think I will end up needing a large top and medium bottom. So, in part of our discussion we talked about a double cosmetology/barbering program. It sounds like a good thing so I think I will try to go that route. I return to school for my first day of real class tomorrow.

I called the school the other day and I found out that orientation is Jan 17th. That’s in less than 2 weeks. This weekend will be my last for about a year and a half. I have school on Saturdays. I am supposed to be getting my scrubs and hair kit when I go to orientation. It will be my first taste of cosmetology school and I am so excited!

I always liked hair, but I never had the courage to go to school for cosmetology because my family didn’t support it. Now I have a wonderful fiance who is very excited about my doing something I will love. I start in about 2 weeks. I am scared that I won’t do a good job or that I’ll mess someone’s hair up. I am also scared that I won’t make enough money. I am still going to dive in and try my best.
