I can read and write Spanish pretty well…surprisingly well. However, when I speak it…talk about brain fart. I get worse everyday. It’s embarassing. I want to communicate with my grandmother without having to pause and ask, “Como se dice [insert english word here] en espanol?” And then sit there for five minutes trying to explain what that word is b/c she knows English less than I know Spanish.
This is my heritage. I want to preserve it.
