I said in my last entry (three months ago…) that I needed more motivation to keep going with this book.
Just found some.
This would have done it if I weren’t already up to that point. But yeah. I want to see what happens with Eponine.
Guess this is the book I’ll be picking up once I’m done with Watership Down. :)

Ugh. This isn’t the longest book I’ve ever read, but it feels like it.
I just… don’t like it. Is that such a bad thing? I’m trying so hard to like it, but, uhhhh. So slow, so maudlin, so full of unnecessary detail. And it just doesn’t feel like there’s a point to it all. Is it even heading anywhere?
Maybe I need some more motivation.

I’ve discovered that the version I have on my phone is much easier to read than the version on my ereader. Maybe it’s a different translation, or maybe I’m just suddenly in a part of the book that is genuinely simpler to digest. Either way, it’ll be my next conquest after The God of Small Things (which I’m currently reading).
