The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo. Pulled out of MarciNYC’s bookbox in April of ‘05, now reserved for Morsie, and one of the very last of my backlogged TBR’s owed out to people, too!
Can’t say I loved the book though. I kept thinking it was the sort of thing adults push on kids because it’s enriching or something, and kids think “yeck.” Or at least I would have. But then I was a tough critic. :P

Can I count a book that I read this year and want to pass along, but I think I might want it to be a surprise in whatever way it ends up being passed along so I don’t want to say what it is? :P ‘Cos there really is one!

I was going to reiterate something along the lines of “I suck, I suck, I suck” referring to losing a whole pile of things to be mailed, but gosh that could confuse people after they’d read the title of this little number, couldn’t it?

Received from firrantello in June of ‘05, and read in May of ‘06. Really good YA fantasy book! Lots of plot and action, no slow spots.
So the bad part is that I just found (or um, re-found) this as I was organizing things, and I was supposed to have mailed this to MissyZ absolutely ages ago and forgot that I hadn’t done it yet. :Big Fat Blush!: Oops! Out of sight, out of mind! What’s worse is that this book was not the only one I just found in the same situation! Oh I’m so embarrassed!
