I’m a big fan of www.kiva.org which allows you to lend money to entrepreneurs from a varitey of backgrounds and countires. You are paid the money back over a period of months, and can either take back the money or re-invest. I’ve got $50.00 loaned, and plan to re-invest the money in others.

I love the idea of Kiva, since you are helping to start up, or develop a business, giving people new opportunities they might not have otherwise had. Additionally, it helps to create more jobs and industry within the village.

It’s the ‘Give a man a fish vs teach him how to fish’. Because then he will open up a hatchery, hire 5 men and women from the village, expand the business and bring in electricity to the community.
