Hmmm – I was just looking at other people’s goals, thinking how vague and unachieveable some of them are, “be happy” etc. And it struck me, to be effective, goals must be all of the above. Be aspirational by all means, but make it a specific, realistic aspiration – phrased it the positive: so instead of ‘manage my money’ – I should say: ‘draw up a budget’, or ‘save 10% per month’. My sister has always understood that.
Funny, I find myself shying away from it. From the responsibility and commitment of it. Hasn’t it always been easier to be vague and see what unfolds?
