But worth it. When I started in April, I could barely run an entire minute. I did the ‘run 30 minutes in 10 weeks’ plan from ‘the complete book of running for women’ (GREAT book, by the way) and entered a few 5K’s. I did a 10K in september and I am running 21K, a half-marathon, in a few weeks. I don’t know if I’ll get to the marathon, so far I really liked 10K as a distance, but I figure I’d try all the distances once, right?
I was afraid I wouldn’t find time to run with 2 kids and no time, but I did, and the added energy from running helps me do more in a day. The insane amount of calories I burn also lets me loose weight if I want, or eat more if I don’t want to loose weight. Food is fuel, and it’s great not to see it as the enemy anymore.
I recommend running to everyone. Get yourself to a specialized running store like the Running Room in Canada and get fitted with good shoes FOR YOUR TYPE (running shoes, NOT cross-trainers), after that, you’re all set!
