overcome my fear of the ocean

O lordy. Summer is approaching and I know people are going to want me to go to the beach with them. I’m sort of freaked out because I remember last year…don’t want to think about it. This year I will go to people to the beach and maybe stick my feet in the water. I have to start slow. You wouldn’t understand how ominous the ocean is here unless you live here. It’s very murky and it’s just…disease, death, and decay waiting to happen. But I will try to swim in it again someday.

I live in Connecticut and the ocean here is terrible. It’s a murky green color and you can’t see the bottom no matter where you are in it. Theres also a lot of seaweed. I don’t much fancy the creatures I’ve seen in these waters. But this ocean has made me afraid of even simple lakes and ponds. I hardly like to swim in anything but pools.
