What's there to believe

I can’t really say I believe too much in a superior being or a creater of all living things. God supposed to help people but why are their so many innocent people being murdered or raped and why are their children dying of cancer and other terminal illnesses. Why is there so much death coming from this “loving god” that so many believe in. Theres not much to believe in but life itself and living everyday hoping you’ll survive. I guess the only thing people can believe is themselves. They believe they can do this or that and it might happen and it might not but no one can believe in a superior life force that is protecting us and is on our side becuase truthfully nobody is on our side but ourselves.
