create a "wedding chest" for when I move to my own space...

What started out as a “wedding chest” evolved into a whole lot of boxes, mostly containing Tupperware. The move into my own space is imminent, however, so maybe it would be worth buying myself two or three big plastic crates to make the final packing a bit easier on all involved. I’ve never had my very own home before, so this is going to be a new experience…

But that doesn’t stop me from adding stuff… I have gotten into the habit of buying a kitchen gadget or some other houseware thing every month, so I guess that means I’ll have to invest in a second wedding chest…

I am considering moving out of the house and out of town, on a massive gamble, towards a job offer. And NOW I’m glad I’ve spent some time, effort and money on this project.

However, I’ll need to buy some furniture and appliances as well, as I only own a coffee table at the moment…

Definitely a good mattress and a nice fridge…

I’ve been thinking of a list of appliances I’ll probably need… (In order of importance to me)

• Fridge/freezer combination
• Washing Machine (still deciding between auto and twin-tub!)
• Kettle
• Microwave
• Clothes Iron
• Good Hi-Fi System
• Food Processor
• Blender
• Tumble-dryer
• Dish-washer
• Espresso-machine

A TV is not even ON the list – can think of a million other things I’d rather have…

I have always been intrigued by the idea of creating a “wedding chest” for when I finally leave home. After all, I’ll probably never marry, but then that makes it much, much more important that I have some “stuff” to begin with when I am in my own place…

Why? Because I won’t be able to afford to buy the stuff all at once… so if I buy a kitchen gadget every month, or some towels… I’ll have a whole lot of stuff when I need it…
