Why the edit?

People who have been following this blog for a while, might be surprised at this specific edit, especially since my goal weight had been at 60 kg for so long…

Well, I took a long, hard look at myself, and realised that there’s no way I can get back to a weight I had at 16 without serious health issues, especially since I’m now double that age! (And not shy to admit it, either!)

Therefore, I took out my trusty BMI calculator and worked out that a good healthy weight at my length would be 65kg, which still leaves me with a size 14 (UK) dress size that still puts me squarely into the “sexy” category…

I'm weighing less!!!

I’m happy to announce that I’ve already removed about 5 kg’s from my starting mass, and a kg from when I started seriously blogging my progress… Yes, it’s a slow process, but a steady one, and I have every intention of keeping the momentum.

What do I do differently? I eat healthier, I think. A LOT less sugary and starchy foods, but the same amount of (lean) meat and vegies. And I walk! Steps and steps and steps and steps… And this round, I’ve got my head screwed on right. The right attitudes and thought processes… and a team that supports me all the way! That includes my bullies at work, too… After all, they notice that I look better and that I eat differently than before, that I drink lots of purified water and that I don’t huff and puff up stairs any more!

I’m getting closer to my next mini-target too. 88 kg will buy me a lot of embroidery floss to start on my next bold project… SO…

This has become a serious project...

It has been decided (those words again!) that this project of me gaining slim will be documented in many ways, in many places! I have created some space in my blog specifically for this goal, and have many friends all over South Africa who support me, not only my mean colleagues!

So…

I have bullies at work...

Two of my colleagues have appointed themselves as guardians over my snacking habits. No more sweets at my desk! I don’t complain too loudly. After all, since they’ve been doing that, I’ve lost a whole kg without changing any other habit!

Maybe not by end June...

But DEFINITELY by Christmas! I give up on my challenge, but can’t remove the challenge without removing the goal, along with all the comments and entries, so maybe beached dolphin it will be…

One step forward,,,

... one to the side!!!

The weekend’s wedding feast has taken its toll… Was worth slimming down for, though, so I shall simply consider this weekend as a mini-break, before getting back to my discipline again!

I’m still 25 Kg’s away from my goal weight, so I doubt that I’ll make it in time for July, but then definitely by my next birthday in November. Would be lovely to fit into a bikini for the summer holidays (which in my part of the world is in November/December/January!)...

I gave in...

... but only a little!!!

Fortunately, I found a store that sold sweets (candy for the Yanks) by weight, and bought myself exactly FIVE pieces of liquorice allsorts… Yes, I ate all of them and that was the highlight of yesterday morning.

Now that I’m satisfied, though, it’ll take a while before I have a desperate craving for something sweet again…

Cravings...

At the time of writing (pretty formal, aren’t I?) I could kill for a packet of liquorice allsorts…

Unfortunately, that would mess up my eating plan in a really big way, so I shall resist…

(Problem is I won’t be able to stop until I’ve eaten every last bit, so rather not start at all!)

Steadily does it...

I’m gaining an average of 800g slim per week, which is what the current wisdom tells us is a good, steady rate of doing so…

And now that my clothes don’t fit any more for all the right reasons, the sacrifice I’m making by cutting out all the chocolate and other sweet stuff starts to get worth it…

Ya, OK, I do have terribly sweet teeth, but I guess I’ll just have to think like a slim person from now on, and use the above in extreme moderation…

My green outfit...

I bought an evening outfit more than a year ago, on a whim. It’s the brightest emerald green anyone can imagine, and would look absolutely beautiful on me… once it fits!

See, what I did was to buy the skirt a size 14 (UK sizes, not American) and the matching bodice a size 12. So guess who will HAVE to lose quite a few cm’s to fit into those garments???

I shall be wearing it by the end of this year, though (that’s a promise I made to myself!), but have not the foggiest idea where to… Maybe just a very fancy dinner for one in a posh restaurant…
