Mixed Results...

I failed my first paper outright! The one I wrote on the 10th won me a supplementary exam at the end of January…

I won’t register again this year – maybe next year again, but for a different module than marketing… I can do the work, but the theory has been evading me for years now! So…

I’m going to put this goal on the back burner for now… Not give up entirely, but spend more time on other stuff…

Written my last two papers, hopefully for the very last time, too!!!

I wrote my last two exam papers towards my degree in the first week of November! With some luck and a lot of imagination, I’ll be graduating at the end of this academic year! I can’t wait! Even if it means I have to parade across a stage wearing a sheet and a funny hat, be sworn at in Latin by a similarly attired old fossil and handed a piece of paper that may or may not help my job prospects.

Well, at the very least, it’ll mean a goal ticked off from my life list! So let’s hold thumbs and big toes!

Assignments done!

Now all that’s left is to get my butt on a seat and get studying for the exams in November!

An assignment completed...

One assignment down, two more to go… And then the exams in November. I don’t particularly like writing exams – would much rather do 300 assignments…

Oh, well…!

Prescribed Text Book Woes

It’s quite interesting to note that I shall purchase myself a text book nest week of which I am only ever going to need to study three chapters. The problem is that I can not complete any assignments nor do coursework without said text book, as the study guide is very, very sketchy.

Tomorrow is Monday. I shall phone around for prices and find out how I can get hold of the book a.s.a.p., as yours charmingly has left it to the very last minute, as per usual.

Sorting out stuff...

One of the miracles of modern technology is that I can download exam time-tables, tutorial letters, and assignment schedules from the Internet… AND get a list of text books… So that’s what I’ve been doing the last hour or so! Guess that also means I have no excuse for being late with my assignments ;-)

I have registered...

I have registered at UNISA and paid the necessary fee… Now I have no more excuses!

Fortunately it’s a year course. Unfortunately my exam dates coincide with that of a big Weekend Seminar. So guess who will just have to study extra hard this year ;-)

Getting registered...

I have downloaded all the relevant registration documents. I shall be a graduate by my 32nd Birthday!!!

My reason why...

I started my degree in 1996, studying by distance learning. For the past two years I have not registered, though, and to my surprise the two modules that I need to complete the degree (marketing communications, and Advertising) are now year modules, for which I can only register in December…

I need to complete these two modules (and my degree) so that I can go on and teach English as a Foreign Language in the Far East (another goal here somewhere!).
