There is nothing that gets to me than hearing the sounds of travel. The sound of car wheels on concrete, the splash of water against a boat, the engine kicking up on a train. I love watching children who travel for the first time race to the window to watch the world go by. I love watching an experienced traveler get lost in their own thoughts in the calming motions of train. I love the music my brother plays in his car when he takes our family to see my grandfather in Virginia.
All these things remind me that I am not standing still.

As a photographer I strive everyday to see the world with new eyes. I have learned to look up, down and around things to get the heart of something.
But there are times when you aren’t looking and the message or image finds you. It times when you need it the most especially when you are at your lowest.
You could be walking down the street experiencing a bad day and a total stranger can tell you to have a good day or smile.
You can witness a gesture of human kindness when a person gives their seat to the elderly or a pregnant woman.
It could be a child grabbing your hand to let you know things will be okay.
Then there are times when people leave something for others to find.
The images attached are one of the things that makes me smile and happy. Most of the times I find this images when my head is at it’s lowest and I am deep in thought.
When my head clears and I look up I find the messages are everywhere.
Happiness is everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and look.

I love the feeling of wind. I like when the wind blows hard enough to propel you forward.

For some reason I love rocks. I like the feel of them and the various weights. I think it because I relate rocks to the earth and that mental image keeps me grounded.

#59 Bare Feet
I love being bare foot. i grew up in the country as a child and love the feel of the earth on my heels and the wind and sunshine on top of my feet. I makes me feel more connected. It’s natural and I want to build a home one day where I can be bare foot all the time.

Silence is golden.
I hate the sound of my cell phone. I know it’s only alerting me that someone is thinking of me enough to call but I miss human interaction. You go visit or write a letter.
I feel like we have become trained to jump for our phones. I have been taking breaks from my cell phone. I check it twice a day and don’t feel so annoyed.

I can sleep how I want.
Watch the TV programs I want.
Eat what I want without sharing.
Play my music loud or soft.
I can cut out all the lights and get a good quiet rest
And so many other things…

Hearing my 4 year old sister say her ABCs and Itsy Bitsy Spider makes me smile and my heart feel good.
When she smiles as she sings she seems so free and knows its okay to make a mistake. You can always start again.
