A little time to myself 2 years ago

I didn’t talk unless I wanted to

I went where I wanted to go

I visited all the “boring” and tourist places

I walked as slow or as fast as I wanted to

I ate what I wanted to and it was cheaper when I have only me to worry about

I had fun

I got to do this again

My mother did this 3 years ago

One day she picked up and left and no one saw her or heard from her for a year. She went to California. A very bold move at that time but excitng none the less.

I sort of did this 3 years ago

Last year I went to see my grandfather for his birthday. Only my husband and grandfather knew I was going. Usually the entire family would know.

I ended up having a great trip and a lot of alone time with my grandfather.

The bus ride was quiet and peaceful because I wasn’t obligated to worry or talk to anyone unless I choose to. I only had my bookbag and what food I needed to eat.

It was really cool because I got to do everything I wanted to do.
