Crochet a baby blanket.

I haven’t done much with this one. I am putting it on the back burner for now. We have several blankets and I know two people who are handmaking blankets for the baby. He will have lots of nice blankies to keep. I am instead concentrating on finishing up the second sweater I am knitting for him.

I finally chose a basic granny square to crochet and then sew together. I’ve done two, count them, two squares. Yes, I am a speed demon. Of course, I have had lots of other things going on but really – it doesn’t take that much time to crochet a granny square. I am thinking, however, that I have plenty of blankets already. Maybe I should ditch this effort and work on another knitted baby sweater. I’ve already started one and had to stop when my tendonitis started acting up. Maybe if I pace myself really well, I can finish it before Jr. comes along. I think that is what I will do.

My baby is due in February 2006. I want to crochet a blanket for him. It has to be big enough for him to play on it on the floor when he gets to be a toddler. I have tons of lt. blue, dark blue, and white yarn from a blanket that I was going to make for myself last year. Can’t wait to start. I just need to find a decent pattern.
