Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)
by Taylor Swift
written by Taylor Swift, Liz Rose and Brian Dean Maher
song number 102
youtube link N/A

She said, I was seven and you were nine
I looked at you like the stars that shined
In the sky, the pretty lights
And our daddies used to joke about the two of us
Growing up and fallin’ in love
And our mamas smiled and rolled their eyes
And said, “Oh, my, my, my”

Take me back to the house in the backyard tree
Said you’d beat me up you were bigger than me
You never did, you never did
Take me back when our world was one block wide
I dared you to kiss me and ran when you tried
Just two kids, you and I
Oh, my, my, my, my

Well I was sixteen when suddenly
I wasn’t that little girl you used to see
But your eyes still shined, like pretty lights
And our daddies used to joke about the two of us,
They never believed we’d really fall in love
And our mamas smiled, and rolled their eyes
And said, “Oh, my, my, my”

Take me back to the creek beds we turned up
Two A.M. ridin’ in your truck
And all I need, is you next to me
Take me back to the time we had our very first fight
Slammin’ of doors ‘stead of kissin’ goodnight
You stayed outside, ‘till the morning light
Oh, my, my, my, my

A few years had gone and come around
We were sittin’ at our favorite spot in town
And you looked at me, got down on one knee

Take me back to the time when we walked down the aisle
Our whole town came and our mamas cried
You said I do, and I did too
Take me home where we met so many years before
We’ll rock our babies on the very front porch
After all this time, you and I

And I’ll be eighty-seven, you’ll be eighty-nine
I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine in the sky
Oh, my, my, my

B track off Taylor’s debut album, but what a sweet song… inspired by her neighbors. (:

Gettin’ You Home
by Chris Young
written by Batten/Blazy/Young
song number 101
youtube link here

Tuxedo waiters, black tie
white table clothes and red wine
we’ve been plannin’ this night
lookin’ forward to it for some time
now honey I know you love gettin’ dressed up
and you know I love showin’ you off
but watching your baby blue eyes dancing in the candle light glow
all I can think about is gettin’ you home

Walkin’ through the front door, seein’ your black dress hit the floor
uh honey there sure ain’t nothing like you lovin’
me all night long
and all I can think about is gettin’ you home

I don’t need this menu no I don’t
I already know just what I want
did I hear you right did you tell me
go pay the waiter and let’s leave
now honey I know by that look in your eyes
and your hand drawing hearts on mine
that our night out of the house ain’t gonna last too long
when all you can think about is gettin’ me home

Walkin’ through the front door, seein’ your black dress hit the floor
uh honey there sure ain’t nothing like you lovin’
me all night long
and all I can think about is gettin’ you home

Walkin’ through the front door, seein’ your black dress hit the floor
uh honey there sure ain’t nothing like you lovin’
me all night long
and all I can think about, all I can think about,
all I can think about is gettin’ you home

This guy’s voice drives me craaaazy!

You Go First
by Jessica Andrews
written by Kerry Chater, Lynn Gillespie Chater and Cyril Rawson
song number: 100
youtube link: here

You’re kicking tires, I’m sitting on the fence
Love’s falling all around us, and it don’t make sense
How long can the two of us beat around the bush
We’re right out on the edge but we need a little push

Dancing on the tightrope, wearing it thin
Instead of closing our eyes and jumping in

Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
You go first

You’re dodging the moon and I’m playing it safe
Look what we’re not doing, oh boy, what a waste
And what could be worse than never saying it at all
Is never knowing the feeling, never feeling the fall

What’s it gonna take to get us both there
Can’t you see what I’m suggesting, it’s a double dare

Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
You go first

You start if you have the nerve
I’ll trust my heart, but you go first

Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
Do you want to kiss
You go first

Jessica Andrews is such a cutie! I love how upbeat and fun this one is. It’s infectious.

It’s Your Love
by Tim McGraw with Faith Hill
written by ? and ?
song number: 99
youtube link: here

Dancin’ in the dark
Middle of the night
Takin’ your heart
And holdin’ it tight

Emotional touch
Touchin’ my skin
And askin’ you to do
What you’ve been doin’ all over again

Oh, it’s a beautiful thing
Don’t think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know
What it is that won’t let me go

It’s your love
It just does somethin’ to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can’t get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I’m under
oh It’s your love

Better than I was
More than I am
And all of this happened
By takin’ your hand

And who I am now
Is who I wanted to be
And now that we’re together
I’m stronger than ever
I’m happy and free

Oh, it’s a beautiful thing
Don’t think I can keep it all in, no
And if you asked me why I changed
All I gotta do is say your sweet name

It’s your love
It just does somethin’ to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can’t get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I’m under
oh It’s your love

Oh, baby

Oh, it’s a beautiful thing
Don’t think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know
What it is that won’t let me go

It’s your love
It just does somethin’ to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can’t get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I’m under
Oh it’s your love
It’s your love
It’s your love

I took Shawn and Zoe for a walk last night and as I walked past the neighbor’s house, this song was playing on the radio. I can’t believe I didn’t add this one til now. I seem to have forgotten all the really great ones and shoved them in last!

Keepin’ the Faith
by Rick Tippe
written by Rick Tippe (possibly others??)
song number: 98
youtube link: here

Norma sits all alone in the waiting room
Nurse says your test results are in
Doctor will see you soon
He says I’m sorry but there’s no good way
To deliver bad news
My hands are tied
So the best thing I can do
Is share these words with you

He said

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift
That’s why it’s called the present
As long as you can keep the faith
Hope and love will lead the way
To a new beginning for now
Heaven can wait, keepin’ the faith

Norma sits all alone in her livin’ room
Wonders hows she’ll tell her family
And they should be home soon
Her husband says I promised you
For better or worse
Holds her tight
Says we’ll win this fight
The key to life is in these words

He said

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift
That’s why it’s called the present
As long as you can keep the faith
Hope and love will lead the way
To a new beginning for now
Heaven can wait, keepin’ the faith

Eight years have come and gone
And Norma’s doin’ fine
She’s reachin out’, helping others
Who are just beginning their own fight

She tells them

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift
That’s why it’s called the present
As long as you can keep the faith
Hope and love will lead the way
To a new beginning for now
Heaven can wait, keepin’ the faith

(Yesterday is history)
Keepin’ on keepin’ on
(Tommorow is a mystery)
Keepin’ on keepin’ on
Heaven can wait
Keepin’ The faith

I promised this one to SpreadYourWings. Here it is, babe! I save the best for last.

Who Needs Pictures
by Brad Paisley
written by Brad Paisley, Chris Dubois and Frank Rogers
song number: 97
youtube link: here

There’s an old Kodak camera in my dresser drawer
I ran across it just this afternoon
And I realized that I don’t ever use it anymore
In fact last time I did I think it was with you

When we were down in Cozumel
We had the whole beach to ourselves
And it’s crazy now to think
That it’s all there on that film
And I could take it to the store
To be developed, but what for
I can still see everything just fine
And who needs pictures with a memory like mine

Standin’ there I couldn’t help but think about
Everything that might be on that roll
I think it even has another trip we took
I guess that must’ve been at least three years ago

When we were down in Baton Rouge
And there wasn’t much to do
So we drove into New Orleans every afternoon
And I swear that you would think
That it was only yesterday
‘Cause I can still see everything just fine
Who needs pictures with a memory like mine

Somewhere in my closet
There’s a cardboard box just sittin’ on a shelf
It’s full of faded memories
And it’s been there ever since the night you left

Oh, just forgotten photographs
To remind me of the past
Oh, but I can still see everything just fine
Who needs pictures with a memory like mine
Yeah, who needs pictures with a memory like mine

Love’s The Only House
by Martina McBride
written by Tom Douglas and Buzz Cason
song number 96
youtubelink: here

I was standing in the grocery store line
The one they marked express
When this woman came through with about 25 things
And I said don’t you know that more is less
She said this world is moving so fast
But I just get more behind with every day
And every morning when I make my coffee
I can’t believe my life’s turned out this way
All I could say was

Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain

He was walking by the other day and I said
Hey baby how you been?
Yeah I got me a little girl now and she’s 4 years old
And she’s got her daddy’s little grin
And you only wanted what you can’t have
And baby you can’t have me now
I gave my heart to another
Yeah I’m a mother and he’s a father and we’re a family
And we’ve got each other
And I found out the hard way that

Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain

You drive three miles from all this prosperity
Down across the river and you see a ghetto there
And we got children walking around with guns
And they got knives and drugs and pain to spare
And here I am in my clean, white shirt
With a little money in my pocket and a nice warm home
And we got teenagers walkin’ around in a culture of darkness
Livin’ together alone, and all I can say is

Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain

And I can’t explain it and I can’t understand
But I’ll come down and get my hands dirty and together we’ll make a stand

Somewhere ‘cross the parking lot some bands playin’ out of tune
City streets are gonna burn if we don’t do somethin’ soon
And senorita can’t quit cryin’, baby’s due now any day
Don Juan left, got sick of tryin’
No one there to show him the way

She came down to the grocery store and
She said I, I wanna buy a little carton of milk but I don’t have any money
I said hey I’ll cover you honey cause the pain’s gotta go somewhere
Yeah the pain’s gotta go someplace
So come on down to my house
Don’t you know that

Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain

Don’t you know that
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Love’s the only house big enough for all the pain

What she said.

Shine
by Deric Ruttan
written by Deric Ruttan and ???
song number: 95
youtube link: Not the video, but you can listen to it at least

I remember the mountains
reflecting in the great salt lake
that crazy summer
we hitch hiked out west
sundown in the desert
firelight on your face
that’s the night I’m never gonna forget
by the light of the silver moon I was playing’ my guitar
while you danced in circles under the stars
and I thought

somewhere in heaven they must miss you
somehow you found your way to me
this world looks brighter than it used to
and I want to spend the rest of my life watchin’ you shine
shine

you take the ordinary and make it beautiful
you can light up a room with the smile on your face
everyone who knows you feels the miracle
you make the world a better place
last night it really hit me layin’ by your side
all the little ways you’re teachin’ me to fly and I thought

somewhere in heaven they must miss you
somehow you found your way to me
this world looks brighter than it used to
and I want to spend the rest of my life watchin’ you shine
shine

you’re my inspiration, destination for all time
when darkness blinds me your love finds me like a guidin’ star for my heart
you shine

and I know

somewhere in heaven they must miss you
somehow you found your way to me
this world looks brighter than it used to
and I want to spend the rest of my life watchin’ you shine
shine
shine

I can’t believe I forgot this song til now. I think it is so beautiful. It should have been in my top 25. I love the way his voice slides over the words.

Tommy had the inside of my wedding band engraved with “My Angel.”

My sister was really crazy about his other song, but this one was always my favorite. (I remember one time the other song came on the radio and our friend goes “OMG! This is my aunt’s friend’s daughter’s somebody or other’s singing!” lol!)

I know what I’m doing tonight… dancing in circles beneath the stars.

Mr. Mom
by Lonestar
written by Lonestar?
song number: 94
youtube link: here

Lost my job, came home mad
Got a hug and kiss and that’s too bad
She said I can go to work until you find another job
I thought I like the sound of that
Watch TV and take long naps
Go from a hard working dad to being Mr. Mom

Well
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the fifteenth time
Breakfast six, naps at nine
There’s bubble gum in the baby’s hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long and it’s only Monday
Mr. Mom

Football, soccer and ballet
Squeeze in Scouts and PTA
And there’s that shopping list she left
That’s seven pages long
How much smoke can one stove make
The kids won’t eat my charcoal cake
It’s more than any man can take
Being Mr. Mom

Well
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the sixteenth time
Breakfast six, naps at nine
There’s bubble gum in the baby’s hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long and it’s only Monday
Mr.Mom

Before I fall in bed tonight
If the dog didn’t eat the classifieds
I’m gonna look just one more time

‘Cause
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the eighteenth time
Breakfast six, naps at nine
There’s bubble gum in the baby’s hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long
Oh been crazy all day long and it’s only Monday
Mr.Mom

Balancin’ checkbooks, juggling bills
Thought there was nothing to it
Baby, now I know how you feel
What I don’t know is how you do it

Honey, you’re my hero

If you do nothing else, watch that video! Funniest thing I’ve seen for a while!

Songs About Rain
by Gary Allen
written by: Liz Rose and Pat McLaughlin
song number: 93
youtube link: here

Well this town has closed down way too early
And there’s nothing to do
So I’m driving around in circles
And I’m thinking about you
Today I heard you got a new last name
Sure didn’t know it was gonna hit me this way
And the radio just keeps on playing all these songs about rain
Now theres all kind of songs about babies and love that goes right
But for some unknown reason nobody wants to play them tonight
Hey I hope it’s sunny wherever you are
But that’s sure not the picture tonight in my car
And it sure ain’t easing my pain all these songs like

Rainy Night In Georgia
and Kentucky Rain
Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again
Blue Eyes Crying In The Early Morning Rain
They go on and on
And there’s no two the same

Oh it would be easy to blame all these songs about rain
Well I thought I was over you but I guess maybe I’m not
Cause when I let you go looks like lonely is all that I got
Guess I’ll never know what could have been
Sure ain’t helping this mood that I’m in
If their gonna keep on playing me songs like

Rainy Night In Georgia
and Kentucky Rain
Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again
Blue Eyes Crying In The Early Morning Rain
They go on and on
And there’s no two the same

Oh how I wish I could blame all these songs about rain
All these songs about rain
(Rainy Night In Georgia
and Kentucky Rain
Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again)
Songs about rain…....
(Blue Eyes Crying In The early Morning Rain
They go on and on
And there’s no two the same)

Ever since I heard this is one of those instant classics to me. I love the way he croons Kentucky Rain – like Kinnnntuckeee Raaain, lol. It always gets stuck in my head, but it’s always welcome!

And that video—!
