Being too tired to cook is truly a problem 13 months ago

Last A1c was 5.9%, so that’s slipping. Well, only one more month of this and then I am totally pigging out on rice krispie treats and cinnabon for a week.

Got my CGM 13 months ago

It REALLY helps… as long as I’m doing the cooking. Now that I’m into my eighth month of pregnancy, though, I am so tired. It’s much harder to plan ahead and make it happen. I think I have become more resistant to carbs yet again, too.

The latest A1c - 5.5% 14 months ago

YESSSS!!!! Not so easy for a pregnant T1!

Latest A1c 5.8% 15 months ago

Could be better, but this is despite horrible highs caused by pregnancy, so yay me. And the doctor who told me I was definitely not in this range and made me cry can bite me.

Something is going all wonky 15 months ago

It’s probably the baby doing this to me but I keep waking up in the 200’s! ACK! Tonight I will watch like a hawk. Maybe the answer is raising nighttime Lantus again.

Not where I want to be yet... 15 months ago

... and I suppose I might not get there ‘til it’s too late anyway. But my last A1c was 5.9 so that’s better! I’ve had to raise my basal by 20% so far.

Slipped during my honeymoon 18 months ago

Food in Aruba didn’t agree with my blood sugars. Now pregnancy is making me too tired to cook and/or grocery shop so I’m eating out a lot and that causes problems too. I’m hoping when 2nd trimester energy kicks in I can really get back on track. Meanwhile, weekends I have great bgs.

Next goal is to get meter average back down to below 100 mg/dl without lots of lows. Right now it’s at 112.

7.0 20 months ago

ARGH! I blame it on the flu I had.

A1c=6.8% 2 years ago

Better than the last, which was 7.2%. But not that great. I’m back on two shots of Lantus a day but really here’s what I need to do:

1) Set the timer after shots before eating.
2) Measure my carbs.
3) Try to rein in the protein portions.
4) Give up this gum addiction I started in tango class.
5) Try to cook almost all my own food.

I have switched to Lantus once a day, in the a.m., and it doesn’t seem to have hurt my control. I think it’s worth more experimentation.
