Both reloans.
One went to Julie Samonte in the Phillipines for her vegetable business and her husband’s motorized tricycle transport business.
The second went to María Eugenia Blandón, a young woman in Nicaragua whose small shop caters to the interests of other young people with products like cell phones and remote controls.

Another re-loan—it’s been a long time since I’ve actually had to put money into Kiva in order to make a loan. Only one of these loans has defaulted and that was one of the Kenyan business owners who suffered during the election violence last year.
This loan went to Georgina so she can raise peas and potatoes for sale in Peru.
Less than $1000 more and our 43 Things team we’ll hit the $15,000 mark!

Inspired by tknight, I also made a loan to Bilal so that he can provide safety to himself and his customers while giving haircuts. He still needs $500 to buy that armored window so you can help me and tknight with that project.
To make hair a theme, I also loaned to Elizabeth, a stylist in Peru who wants a loan to start a full-service salon with her sister who is a masseuse.
The 43Things Team has loaned $8,525.00 since its inception on September 12th. How fast do you think we can make it to $10,000?

Another reloan, and another loan for the 43Things team. We’ve loaned $5500 since we formed a team!
This went to Jamila Halimova—she sells beautiful children’s clothes!

Loan 14 & 15
The first loans I’ve made since joining the 43 Things Team on kiva.org. I’ve tried to make loans recently, but there weren’t any borrowers available until today. These are both re-loans—kiva’s new policy of letting us lend partial repayments means that I have money available to loan.

A friend asked me to loan to someone whose application was about to expire, but by the time I got there, the loan had been filled.
So, while I was there, I made a fresh loan to Racheal Nanyaro of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to expand her restaurant business.

I’m thrilled that Kenyan entrepreneurs are again applying for loans. I made a loan to Margaret Rangi whose wares were stolen from her clothing business during the election violence and now needs a loan to re-start her business.

Two of my loans were recently paid off, so I’m reloaning that money to:
Gifty Aggrey of Ghana for her clothing business
Catalina’s Group of Peru for their various farming and market activities

Cruz Luciano Hurtado Contreras in Nicaragua wants to expand his vehicle repair business. Since our truck is in the shop, lending to Cruz Luciano seems like good karma.
