Locating physical discomfort caused by stored emotions can become a regular meditation practice. It is a great relaxation technique as well as a way to access emotions you are having trouble identifying.

It’s very important that you understand the difference between expressive arts and art for exhibition, performance, or publication. In expressive arts, there is no expectation to perform. This is not Art with a captial A. We’re not attempting to make art for the sake of art….Rather than being art for art’s sake, it’s art for the person’s sake. It is the process that matters most.

Chapter 1  — 1 year ago

How do we develop what has been called emotional literacy? How do we learn to read and speak the language of feelings, our own as well as the feelings of others? My approach is to accept feelings and learn from them. But in order to do this, we must learn the language of feelings. It is the language of the Inner Child, the body, the Inner Artist, and the soul. It is the language of intimacy, our deepest communication with ourselves and with others. Once learned, this language can take us to our highest wisdom and our greatest creativity.
