Struggling for what seems like forever.... 2 years ago

Three weeks ago I decided to buckle down and focus on getting back to my goal weight because my pants were starting to get tight and I was feeling uncomfortable. And so far, I’ve lost 6 pounds. The bonus part is, it’s been unbelievable easy – I can’t even believe that I doubted that I could do it. (Not that I’m saying that weight loss is easy, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever accomplished.)

Joined a spin class on Saturday 2 years ago

Almost died. Ate a gigantic chocolate chip cookie last night. I still feel guilty about that damn cookie. I just wanted it so badly….

I guess my weight is healthy but I’d feel alot better if I lost this five pounds I’ve been carrying around for the last year. However eating gigantic cookies is not going to help me get closer to this goal.

I only gained 0.6!!!
Yay me!

Setback 3 years ago

In the last two weeks I’ve lost 2.6 lbs but I went away this weekend and I am sure I’ve found those lost lbs. Although I had a pretty good weekend, I ate and drank way too much. And what really bugs me is that I demonstrated very little self control.

Another injury.... 3 years ago

I slept funny and woke up with a really sore neck last Saturday. I didn’t exercise at all last week (with the exception of nine holes of golf) and I gained two pounds! How in the hell can that be? I was so careful with food. So today I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 on the bike. My physio warned me against running but I don’t care, I’m going tomorrow.

Have to revise my goal.... 3 years ago

I’ve only gotten any three types of exercise this week due to the fact that I got hit in the knee with a golf ball on Wednesday night. Not only did it hurt a lot but has sidelined me from doing any type of activity. My co-worker (physiotherapist) told me to rest it until I feel 100% better, she is concerned that if I start running right away I will do permanent damage. At least I learned a valuable lesson, always stand BEHIND the person teeing off.

So the revised goal is to log every single thing I eat, eat lots of veggies and drink lots of water. No more midnight snacking – bran flakes, toast and jam, cheese.

7 lbs above goal weight 3 years ago

My weight has been fluctuating approx. 5-7 lbs above my goal for about a year – it’s so frustrating. I try to pretend like I don’t know why I can’t keep it down but I think I secretly know why, I just don’t want to admit it. So I am going to do two things this week:
1. Work out 4 times
2. STOP SNACKING AT NIGHT (especially on toast and jam – I love bread)
Now that I’ve actually written it down – I have to do it!

Normally this wouldn't bother me... 3 years ago

I went into my regular coffee shop this morning and ordered a coffee, the girl serving me asked me if I wanted a muffin. And I said no thank you (like I always do because I never order their evil “mini-cakes”) And she said, oh you never order anything in the morning. I explained to her how I’ve lost some weight and that when I was “bigger” I used to order a muffin/cinnamon bun every day but I’ve stopped that now. Then she goes on to tell me about other regular customers WHO HAVE LOST WEIGHT EATING THE MUFFINS FROM THIS COFFEE SHOP!!!!! Yes, I’m sure that if you just eat muffins morning noon and night, the weight will just fall off! It has nothing to do with hard work and determination – oh, if only I had known about the secret power of their weight loss muffins….
(I’m done now, and feel better)
