Learn to speak cantonese

no progress in this one so far. I have my boyfriend’s friend here too visiting. i have 2 guys speaking Cantonese yet neither of them is doing a good job teaching! They’re starting with bad words or jokes. This is going to be moved to the bottom of the list.

Will be move upward once I found a job! one thing at a time right?

I am half Chinese, Cantonese to be exact. I was able to understand the simple dialogues in this language a long long time ago, when I was 5 years old. Unfortunately, my grampa, my only teacher, passed when I was about 6. Since then, I’ve lost the tongue and ears for Cantonese.

Before my significant other, who is Cantonese, came into my life,I have bought CDs, a book, and have made multiple attempts to learn in the car, but it didn’t work out. After meeting his parents, who only speak Cantonese, absolutely NO English! I have discovered a new reason to pursue learning the language once more; this time with his help.

My approach to this newly re-discovered flavor is to ask him many questions and repeat the things he teach me! Wish me luck!
