Yesterday I bought a paper version of the Qur’an (I’ve been reading it online before). It’s in Swedish, but unfortunately it’s not modern Swedish, so I just hope that it won’t be too hard. If this is the most updated Swedish translation available, they need a new one. The Norwegian one is a lot better, but it was too expensive for me. Anyway, physically owning the book makes it easier to read a little here and there.

The information one gets about Islam here and there all seems very confusing, and I want to learn about it right from the source.
It’s partially pure interest and partially because of my “Find a Religion” goal.
I’ve been raised with an angry Bible being showed down my throat, and while I have belief in it, it also confuses me. Now I’m open to look into other things as well. I want to give the Qur’an a shot, and if it’s the word of God it shouldn’t be too hard for me (or anyone) to understand, that’s what I think. So far I’ve gotten halfway through and I’m pleasantly surprised. I never understood what it was about before, and it’s hard to explain, but quite early on in my reading I just suddenly “got it”, I understood something I hadn’t known before.
I told my Chinese teacher about my experience reading the Qur’an and she seemed to understand. She said that God leads us in the right direction, and it did make me think. I’m not making any decision until I’ve looked elsewhere too, though.
