make sure 2008 is better than 2007

I should have expected 2007 to be a bad year when it started out so horribly. 2007 has been, by far, the worst year of my life, and I’m not trying to be a drama queen. I have grown and changed a lot, learned a lot, matured a lot, and lost a lot. The losses are the hardest to deal with, and seem to be things that stand out the most when looking back at the year. Each time I’d prepare to stand up after falling I’d be hit with another blow. Watching the strongest man I know suffer and deteriorate, yet still keep fighting, was the most painful thing I’ve had to do – much worse than any physical pain I’ve endured. I have grown up in 2007, whether or not I wanted to. I feel like I need to try my best to keep the people I love together and safe. We’re at the bottom of the slope, and as I see it, we have nowhere else to go but up. So, 2008, here’s to you and whatever you may bring; I’m looking forward to your arrival.
