A friend, companion, a model for inspiration, Dakini, lover, waysharer, guide, teacher, healer, are all attributes and all within the realms of a Muse.
My name is LionHeart, currently living in Sedona, Arizona and also Camp Verde (Verde Valley)-Arizona, soon to be re-located in the beauty of the mountains.
I am a semi-retired metaphysical store owner, and now self-employed as a web-designer and owner of my own online store.
I am searching for a Muse,I’ve finally given up on relationships.
I am seeking a woman that I can share the beauty and wonder of the earth with, the seasons, the endless bounty of music, good healthy food, gardening in the moonlight, sharing dreams, inspiration, empowerment, pleasures, perceptions, insights, glimpses and life force energies.
We would say to each other-deliberately, lovingly, genuinely:
If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty
On the days you’re feeling blue
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own,
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I’m finding
Are impossible for me
I cannot build a mountain,
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend who’s always there
Khalil Gibran
We would learn together how to surrender to love, tenderness, understanding, listening, gentleness, humor, kyndness and to one another.
No-one is in control or more powerful than the two of us together. No dominance and submission-no battle of the sexes-just recognition-“seeing” each other—tearing down the walls and uncovering trust, vulnerablity, desire and need!
We would protect each other from that which wouldn’t reflect these shared goals.
I would hope my Muse would have some knowledge of the Muses of the past and their occupations:
- Calliope (Chief of the muses and muse of epic poetry)
- Euterpe (music/lyric poetry)
- Clio (history and historical/heroic poetry)
- Erato (lyrics/love poetry)
- Melpomene (tragedy)
- Polyhymnia (hymns and sacred poetry)
- Terpsichore (dance and choral song)
- Thalia (comedy)
- Urania (astronomy)
More later by request if you are interested and not just fantasizing—I would be pleased to answer any and all letters.
To keep it simple.
This poem and thought by Oriah Mountain Dreamer says it all:
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon…
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to
be careful
be realistic
remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.
