...I have enarly quit. I can go for a week or so before I feel the urge again. And this is generally due to boredom or tiredness, my two triggers. I need to learn to just work through it and keep myself occupied or go to bed earlier so I don’t get tired. I’m trying! But at least I have nearly quit. And I’m still exercising, which is giving me the boost to do this one last thing so I can be totally healthy.

This is great. It has been so easy so far. Not really had a craving whatsoever. I have even lost a pound in weight even though I have done less exercise. Weird! Got more energy now though, and my sleep has settled down now. Had a sore throat this morning, and a crazy epic dream about drug dealing last night, but i feel really good about things. I really reckon this could be permanent. Not even thought about having a cigarette. And I’ve not had NRT. This just must have been that “right time” that people talk about…
Hey, it’s my 3rd day. This is the second time I have quit for so long without having a single cigarette. I feel great so far – only have cravings when I read the entries on this site!
I really want to quit for good this time. I have lots of reasons to as well. My boyfriend doesn’t know I smoke, and I never want him to. It is so stressful smoking behind his back, that it is just better to give up. Plus, I have been on a “get fit” campaign recently and can tell the awful effect smoking is having on my body.
The best reason of all to quit is that my brother and his girlfriend are having a baby. I don’t want to be a smoking auntie, or get ill due to smoking when the kid is still young.
The longest I have done is a week. I really think I can go for a lot longer (forever!) this time. Gotta stay strong and not give in to the cravings. My sleep is still disturbed at the moment but that should pass in a few days.
I just know I am loving not feeling guilty for smoking behind my boyfriend’s back, and I can really chill out in his company wothout having to make excuses about why I smell of smoke!
I have tried to do this several times and have only managed to do 4 days before giving in. I only smoke 5-10 a day but it is so hard. I have tried gum but it makes me feel ill. I actually felt really good for the last 4 days I did. I only got my first craving on the 4th day, then i thought that one wouldn’t hurt. It did. It made my face hurt, my throat itch, i sneezed a lot, my chest hurt and i felt ill. But I carried on and smoked another 8 in a row. Just one more is not allowed. Time to quit and detox and do it fo good. It isn’t that bad as long as i don’‘t have one. And I will be and feel so much healthier. I quit weed and that was hard, even while smoking. I have done it once, I can do it again…i’m going to do it, starting from fri (2 days time).
