I want to do this goal again. But maybe not straight away, and maybe not very often. Actually more like I want this to happen to me again, rather than to do it!
I think half the point of something being life changing is that it rarely happens, is something unique.
I also don’t think you can set out to make this happen – I believe it’s not something you can plan to do – it just happens to you and you will know when it does, even if you don’t realise straight away

I think the whole of my trip to Tanzania counts as life changing. I have a feeling that travelling is way more than just going on a trip and seeing a few places. There is so much more to it. I never got it before, but now I do. There were so many moments that I can’t even describe, can’t even explain how they made me feel.
But the one that stands out was standing at the bottom of Kili, with about 40 local Tanzanian guides and porters singing a song. A moment you would not get at any other place on earth and a moment that would never be exactly the same again – even if I go back. The tears were rolling down my face. It just hit me as something so unique – and only a handful of people would experience that very moment. The people on the next trek would probably hear the same song from the team, but it would not be the same moment as what I had, which was why it was so special. We have moments every day that only ourselves experience but the point was it was different, it was something new, and it was just mine and the poeople in my groups moment.
The guides and porters and cooks and everyone else were the people that got me up the mountain to the point where I did, because of them I was able to have the experience that I did. These guys do this all the time, but they know most people on the trip will do this once in their life and they make it so unique, so special.
I was not expecting, and was unprepared to come back home feeling how I did, and having been changed. Maybe on the surface I’m not that different – my day to day life is pretty similar to what it was before – but inside I am different, and I feel different, and even if it’s not obvious to others I feel it, and I know it. And I love it
