Kindle hiatus?

This goal is on hold for a VERY happy reason. My Banana has taken over my Kindle. She isn’t a reader, so when she took an interest I spent 7.99 of my last 20 dollars to download An Interview With a Vampire so that she could read easily in the field. So I am off to add a new goal to my little list – check it!

The Hunger Games!

I read all three of these and they were all amazing!

Hmmm.

This will never get done if I keep buying more! Errr… Sorry self, I am not helping you out, am I?

Where did the time go?

Oh, yeah! To the gym!

Keeping it in order:

(My new Kindle 2, named Alister, has only a few things on him at this point. This is to keep things clear and help me read everything.) Alister’s home screen looks like this:

Pratical Demonkeeping – Christopher Moore
newMy Sister the Vampire #1 – Sienna Mercer
Apocalipstick – Sue Margolis
Every Word (Game) by Amazon Digital Services
newStink: Solar System Superhero – Megan McDonalds
The New Oxford American Dictionary
Archived Items (106)

Pratical Demonkeeping is not new because I started it today.
My Sister the Vampire is a book that Lou wants to read and could, but at eight I want to read it first because it is for a slightly older crowd.
Apocalipstick is not new because I have started it a million times. Problem is I like Chick Lit – only when I am in the mood for it. I have forgotton an bought new easy reads and then when I remember I want more meat. So I am making it one of only a few so it wont keep getting over looked.
The Stink book is little Lou’s book. She had been reading a Phineus and Ferb book and we had JUST gotten this one the night before Sam III died. I love that at eight she wants her own Kindle!

So, now I have some idea.

There were a few of these that I didn’t read for a reason and we are taking them off the list.
My Sister, My Sin – is a strange sex book. Not even in a good way. No thankyouverymuch!
The Stepdaughters – another weird sex book. Maybe I was high when i got these (joking, sorta), from what I can tell they were free, so I must have downloaded without pre-screening, if it is free I do that.
Cruel Deception – I read this and forgot. It’s a crime story.
Little Kids, Big City – LOVE Alex, her book is good. I just lose interest.
Mania – another free book I didn’t realize it was about. I don’t care for it.

UNREAD, books I started or even read half of before forgetting them for one reason or another:
Grave Secret
Pretty Little Liars # 8: Wanted

NEW, never been started or anything books:
My Sister the Vampire #1
Apocalipstick
The Cinerella Curse
Sushi for One?
Eliot’s Banana
Premiere
Flowers For Elivis
Talk of the Town
The Shack
The Apothecary’s Daughter
Brave New World
Assassin’s Apprentice
Nail Through the Heart
A Little Death in Dixie

And, add Practical Demon Keeping. (Only I am reading that this weekend!)

Giving me a break.

Taking Cruel Deception off the list, I did read it and I forgot. Ha, ha. Also letting me pick from the list of NEW new books. AS a little break. I figure this is safe because it’s a goal here now, so I will not for get the books. Now, which on do I read?

Beloved ~ Toni Morrison

Whew. Good, sad, scary, ♥-breaking and intense. NOT a light read. Really lovely. Much better book than movie.

Star Island ~ Carl Hiaasen

This is a fun little book. The style is a bit strange; a lot of “funny” info on new characters at the beginning of almost every chapter. Thing is that it names drops almost every pop celeb out there at this point and with SO MUCH of that the authors characters get a bit lost. They also have names that do not lend themselves to your memory very easily or blend into the story. Every time I read a name it jarred me.
I guess it is a cute-ish story; no depth, but a good way to waste the day if you got nothing else going. I am a little disappointed that I chose to buy this full priced. Would’ve been great as a .50-1.50 pickup; at 9.99, not so much.

Oh, my.

Seems I have more unread books than I thought. When my Kindle broke I thought I had re-downloaded all the unread books. (The cool thing about the Kindle is that on the home screen where all the titles I have on my Kindle are they have a little indicator to tell you how much has been read. Like this …....... would be a book never read, while this .......... would be a book half read and this .......... would be a book completely read.) So I have seven books in various states of being read. I already started Star Island, but I think after that I am going to start completing the books I have started. I will go in order of which I have read the most. Here is the run down:
UNREAD, books I started or even read half of before forgetting them for one reason or another:
