I’ve been saying “I love you” to my little boy every day since he was born. This week, at 25 months old, he started saying (in response) “I love you too daddy”. My gawd, does that ever tug at the heartstrings.
Like me, he is definitely a momma’s boy, but now he’s starting to show affection for daddy. Sweet words. Unsolicited hugs. Extended playtime…
He got a t-ball set for Christmas. We take turns hitting the ball in the basement every night. He gets 2 hits, then he says “daddy turn”. Then I get 2 swings, and he says “my turn”, and even though the cycle repeats for half hour, it never gets old.
