Being a little more active 3 years ago

Well, today, instead of being a couch potato, on this lovely summer day, I went outside and played handball to get myself moving. It’s fun, it keeps you occupied, and you’re constantly trying to move where the ball is moving to catch up to it and smack it back against the wall. It got my heart pumping and I didn’t mind it at all. This also is good for practice with my goal on 43things to “get good at handball”.



Gave it my first shot 3 years ago

Well, I gave it my first shot in a while. I went out riding my bike uphill about 4 times, and then I was worn out. But at least it’s something toward burning energy rather than just giving up and sitting around. I wonder if it’s enough to burn any energy at all.



Not motivated!!! 3 years ago

Wow… I’m totally not motivated when it comes to excercise. One of my goals is to lose weight since I’m 17 and pretty dang overweight. But I’m also very lazy and I sit around a lot. I need to get more active. I’m trying handball (which is fun) in my backyard against the garage door, jumping rope, using the excercise bike, roller blading, bike riding, and skateboarding. I wonder if all of that is enough to lose weight. I have a set of 5 lb dumbells, but I haven’t picked them up in about a year. I don’t really know good muscular exercises anyway. It’s a good thing I’m constantly bored cause otherwise I would REALLY be not motivated to excercise. I’d sit around playing video games all day. I also go hiking and walking when I can. I’m pretty much stuck in the house cause I don’t drive yet (but I will soon!). At least I see my friends often! :) I need to figure out a good exercise routine- especially muscular toning.
