So I have been taking real-life, adult Armenian lessons for about five months now. I definitely haven’t “learned” Armenian, but I can read now (probably at a first grade level) and I do know a lot more than I started with. I still don’t understand much and can’t say much back either.

I know a little Armenian- what I would refer to as “Toddler Armenian.” I’m trying to focus on actual conversation, though.
A TERRIFIC resource if you’re focusing on spoken is Thomas Samuelian’s dictionary of Western Armenian in transliteration. It’s out of print, but if you can find a copy, it is WELL worth it. I managed to score a copy from hyefamily.com, but they don’t have it anymore.
I just ordered the Samuelian Western Armenian textbooks through interlibrary loan- I hope they’re good. I want to get the grammar down; at least elementary grammar.
