I’ve completed the first assignment from the 30 poems in 30 days of 2007: Write a poem about your childhood.
I bent the rules a little in terms of the restrictions. But since I made it a villanelle, I can now cross off a goal.

I’m going to try the exercises in the “30 Poems in 30 Days” series. Not that I’ll necessarily write a poem a day, but maybe I could shoot for a poem a week. I really need some sort of prompt to get me writing. It was often like that when I was an undergrad… I just couldn’t turn in anything for writing workshops unless I had an “assignment” to help me focus.
