see my father more

I’m scheduled to go see him this weekend. It wasn’t my idea, it was my brothers. I can’t believe I let 6 months slip by. I was making an effort to talk to him more on the phone, but even that I don’t think I’ve done since January.

I’ll get my shit together some day.

I just spent five days with my father. Unfortunately, it was because my grandmother passed away. I saw a lot of people from that side of my family that I haven’t seen in 5, 10, or in some case 20 years. Yes, they’re a few hours away, but that’s no excuse. I realized that I’ve probably only seen my grandmother a dozen times in the last ten years or so. I need to make my extended family more of a priority. Especially my father. Shit, he’s got a sailboat. How much more motivation do I need?
