create a vision board

I’ve started to question the value of this goal. I got about a quarter of the way through it in the first few days and sort of moved on to other things. Now that I look back on it, I’m not sure it’s a valuable use of my time. I haven’t had motivational problems for the last 6-12 months, and this project just seems like busy work at this point. I’m on the fence…

If I’m still on the fence the next time I read this, I’m cancelling it.

Subtle metaphor, right?

Yeah. These have gotten much easier.

Yup. That’s what they look like.

This one’s cute. This is how this exercise feels sometimes.

This one was harder to find than I thought it would be. I wanted something that looked like music, without evoking any particular performer or genre. This is a still from a performance piece called “Messa di Voce” by guys named Golan Levin and Zachary Lieberman. I particularly liked the upward swoops of the “sound.”

After looking at a couple hundred pictures of brooms, I declare that the Clean Sweep Program is now represented by an empty room with the sun shining in. Brooms just don’t photograph well.

If “Get Motivated” was difficult to display in an image, this one seemed nearly impossible. The wooden heart spoke to me, but it’s not quite right. Oh, well, close enough.

The way I want to work this vision board is to have images for each of the goals on my list (give or take). For now, I’m starting at the beginning.

Get motivated is a pretty abstract concept, so this is the best I have so far. Somehow holding the world in my hand seems a little megalomaniacal. It’s the best I have for now.
