I think I'll need a bivvy bag 17 months ago

I live in the UK where it can get a tad on the cool side at night (actually during the day as well) even in summer. I’ve never posessed a bivvy bag before, in fact I’ve never seen one, but a mate of mine is an ex-soldier and has used one many a time in combination with a basher, which I gather is bit of cloth that you strategically secure with whatever’s available to form some sort of tent. Not that I want to sleep under a basher or in a tent. I’ve slept in a tent many times and for me that doesn’t count as sleeping under the stars.
