Its rare to see an original willys around here, so it was a pleasent surprise to see two, and one of them a truck

The bottom of Albion falls

We decided to head to this particular forest and waterfall. 200 years ago this forest contained a villlage and an old mill serving as the epicenter of the area and the falls where actually concidered as a potential source of power for the area.

In 1907 Robert Grassie, the owner of the mill, fell into the wheel pit and was killed. The mill never ran again.(the falls have suffered several tragedies over the years themselves and stories of hauntings abound) The village died, mom and pop shops that poped up in the 40’s and 50’s where pushed out for freeways, a highway now runs overtop of the falls. Then we came across this spot, obviously once a place for camp fires long abandoned, the trail grown over, those concrete blocks mark the begining of the major expressway. On our way out we took a different path which had once been an old road, the forest had grown over like it was taking back what it had lost, only pieces of it marked with yellow and white lines remained.

Flickr challenge was country music appreciation today, so heres my shot.

I grew up listening to my dads rock stations and my moms country stations. Nowadays I lean more towards classic rock as a genre (with some classical) but I still love several country songs. I have a stack of Johnny Cash cds and the video for his cover of the NIN song Hurt is my favorite song of all time, hauntingly beautiful (thats a Johnny Cash t-shirt my guitar is blocking) Tennessee is one of my favorite places on earth. I have been there several times, the place I stay in backs onto the Smokey Mountains and has a balcony that overlooks the main road in Pigeon Forge and the old Mill. Down below there is a restaurant that plays live blue grass music outside in a gazebo every night. If I had my choice I would never leave there.

What can I say its a holiday weekend here, not a whole lot going on, and who doesn’t love a pirate?

I thought Sadie was due another appearence in my photos again, I did one similar to this with Desoto earlier in the week, so I thought I would copy that.

Mocha cupcakes, I still can’t find my tips so I will have to buy some more. Its driving me nuts not having them! I dyed my hands a lovely shade of vermilion digging through a box of dye hoping to find one.

Okay, so before you think I am nuts, this is for a flickr challenge again, it had to include leaves. I would like to have kept the color in my eye as well but I don’t have photoshop so this was as close as I could get. Two days of almost rainlessness (pretty sure thats not a word) I need to soak up as much vitamin D as I can.
