have a happy marriage

Things are pretty good and honestly I don’t know what I else I would change about the marriage (because I can’t really change him now can I? :))

Here’s to another good year.

Yesterday was a great day. We both took the day off work and did some fun things together as well as a bit of stuff at home and took in a movie. For those out there working on this if you can ever manage to do something like this (day off in the middle of the week to just have fun in your city) it can be really great!

I was thinking about 43things due to finishing another “thing” and I realize that I don’t know when this one is done. I don’t think I am ready to mark it off yet (and indeed, working on this never ends) but that is something for me to think about. I can always add it back again if need be.

This weekend included one tiff, one spat, and also quite a few nice times (and affection.) I guess that is what a marriage is. Friday has hard because we were pretty out of sync (one of us had the afternoon off, and the other was working hard long hours) but by this morning we were doing great.

We have had a few spats lately but we have just sort of moved past them (though not worked through them.) Also, we have been working together on a few things around the home and that really does help to bring you together. In addition, a couple of minor health issues (first him, then me) have both hurt and helped. For one, it is always hard to take care of and live with a sick person, but then again when you do it does help to reinforce the bond and the person being taken care of does feel loved. Best wishes to everyone who is also working on this goal!

We had a very nice night last night and are on the track to another happy year. A night away and a change of scene helps.

... but we have had some issues with conflict. I don’t like conflict in general and I am having a hard time striking the balance between this goal and still being fair to myself. I do appreciate my hubby today. I hope the rest of the month goes well.

While doing stuff around the house today, I really felt that we were working as a team. It was great. Last week was a stressful one for both of us and this is just such a good Saturday after all of that.

We had a short trip away which was very good. Time with no responsibility and the fun of just eating out and shopping for a couple of days always helps.

This has been a pretty good week. That’s all I have to say. :)

Thanksgiving was mercifully quiet so this was actually a real good time. We even got out to a movie the day after and had a little time out together today.
