Several sources including PC Magazine show Vista as slower than XP, omg. I’m currently locked out of all new games. It’s still of a want more than a need. Windows 9 or bust!

Microsoft forces Vista on consumers and businesses starting 2008. Since it doesn’t work, is not true 64-bit, needs 1.2 Gbytes for the page file, won’t recognize more than 3 Gbytes of RAM when the motherboards that can hold 8, hardware companies can’t get their products to work on it, games are still made in 32-bit, it actually runs slower than XP, I have to wait for the ‘good’ stuff to come out. But, when?
New Vista patch in December 2007? Another new patch in April 2008? Maybe by the summer the good hardware comes out? Maybe by winter 2008 the prices drop, games start coming out that are 64-bit and use DirectX10 without having to turn down the effects?
Brands:- e-Machines will last 1 year.
- iBuyPowerPC is next to the bottom because they OEM (not real parts). FTC and customers went after them too. Way to low-end for me.
- Gateway and HP send specs to China, and we hope we get the good product back.
- Dells work resonably well, but they know it and are like 40% higher too! Jerks.
- Alienware: I’d rather buy a second car and redo all the major appliances. No thank you. Good stuff. Too high.
But, if experts can’t configure the parts becuase the manufacturer’s can’t get them to work…I’m going to try to build my own? Who am I again? :) Nope. I don’t think so.
I’m looking at Velocity Micro. I found them last week. I wish I didn’t have to wait for winter 2008. My PC is sooooooo old.
