get my car fixed

I’ve been trying to find a time when my insane schedule would allow time to visit my car mechanic whom I adore but haven’t been able to get there for months. When everytime I turn on the car it would beep little reminders at me that my breaks are bad, my tires need replacing and I need an oil change soon, very soon, I would renew my promise that I would find a time to visit my mechanic. As the reminders have become more persistant, I’ve become more concerned about the damage I was inflicting on my poor car with my neglect. So out of sheer desperation, I took an unplanned turn into a JiffyLube type place to at least make sure my car could get an oil change before it blew up or anything else equally insane until I could find the time for it to have a long leisurely and much needed visit with my trusted mechanic. The plan went perfectly until later that night. As I was driving my newly lubed car home, I noticed it was driving oddly. Turns out one of my tires was pancake flat, unrecoverable and another one is severely damaged and not long for this world. And as an added bonus it turns out have really snazzy tires that apparently can’t be replaced individually but must be replaced as a full set of 4. Grrr… For about a minute I was feeling good about making progress on this goal. Ugh…. although, I suppose buying all new tires will make great progress towards maintaining my car. Guess I’ll be making progress on this goal afterall…

Just bought a newer used car but after taking it to a mechanic that I trust to have it checked out, I have a list of repairs that I need to have the dealership fix which hopefully will be covered under the warranty. Including fixing the rear-view mirror, replacing front brakes, a crack in the back tail light which might be causing an electrical short and a small oil leak. We’ll see how much they are willing to do for me…
