I’ve been slowly paying off my student loan and I’ve been eating well. Unfortunately, I’ve been spending a lot on stuff I don’t need – like cab fare and cover charges to clubs – just to make new friends with some people in my new building.
Things keep getting “used”, and I haven’t really been replacing them…
1. My digital camera has a broken display screen, but it still takes fuzzy pictures.
2. I lost my cell phone over a week ago but haven’t replaced it yet. If I can’t find one for a good deal, I might just go without a cell phone for a few months and use that money towards paying off more of my loan or something.
3. I thought my iPod was dying, but then my brother said it was just my headphones (thank God). I have a few old, annoying earbuds that always fall out of my ears, but they’re functional so they’ll have to do.
4. I keep losing socks or getting holes in them, but I started wearing mismatched socks and as long as they’re the same length/thickness, it works.
Other stuff I’ve done:
I gave away some of my old lotion samples to my roommate, who LOVES lotions. I have my three staple lotions (daytime face, nighttime face, anytime body lotion) and I’m happy with that.
I’ve done a couple of clothing swaps and gotten rid of stuff I don’t like, while getting new stuff for free.
I’ve went to potlucks and made cheap food like candied sweet potatos (around $4 total) and gotten a whole thanksgiving meal in return.
I will be making lentil soup this week and will be eating it forever and ever.
Also, I will hopefully be selling some of that furniture in the guest bedroom very soon so we’ll have more living space AND I might make an easy $100.
