make a difference

It is a valuable skill to be able to help guide someone to a promised land. But it is a more valuable skill to help make someone’s existing land promising.

My work is often focused on loving what others ostracize, showing the beauty in what others term ugly, and educating where others assume wrongdoing.

Maybe more than most people, I sense I don’t want to care about things that are temporary, coming & going. I care deeply about ideas, principles, and people that will endure.

Most of us will not be given an opportunity to do a lot of good at any one time or in any one moment.

So, you might focus on trying to do a little good as often as you can.

I don’t know if there is such a thing as good or bad people.

But I suspect there are actions that have good consequences. So I focus on doing those.

What would we be if we didn’t disagree?

Did you attempt for your life to build more bridges or more boundaries?

Did your life practically create more bridges or more boundaries for yourself and others?

If you had to write down and publish what you do everyday, and keep those activities posted for the rest of your life, then you’d probably do better things.

Sometimes the pursuit is not to show that one option is better than another option.

Sometimes the pursuit is to show that between options, each option should be acceptable, honorable, and eligible.

Nobody ever changes anything by playing it safe.
