What Have You Done?

I’m happy for you for all you’ve acquired, and all the clever ways you’ve acquired them.

I’m happy for all you’ve accomplished. I’m happy for all the places you’ve been and the people you’ve met.

I’m happy for all the wealth you’ve acquired for yourself and your family.

I’m happy for you for all the competitions you’ve won and the competitors you’ve beaten and surpassed.

But if your narrative doesn’t easily show how you’re helping others, I’m probably going to notice that.

Other people probably will also.

Work Load

As a general rule, in your household or workgroup, if someone else is clearly doing more work than you, then don’t ask them to do things for you that you can do yourself.

My Wish For You

I hope you find someone who believes and cares as much as you do about love, romance, passion, the arts, compassion, caring, and physical affection.

Publish The Truth

Others can mistreat you, lie about you, hurt you, and even kill you.

But never forget, they can never kill the words you’ve published and others have heard.

Some people spend much of their lives working to control information and portrayals.

Your best tool to disarm misrepresentations is to publish the truth.

History Repeating Itself

In making your New Year’s Resolutions, consider this:

If in the off chance the cliche proves to be true, then you’d damn well better work hard every day to make your history one worth repeating.

Ability v. Habit

The ability to fix many things is valuable. But of more worth may be the habit of consistently fixing things as soon as you recognize they are broken.

The Road Versus The Desert Expanse

Don’t focus on the desert expanse. Your job is not to bring life to the entire vast, lifeless landscape. Sometimes your work is to find or build on road through the wasteland.

Counter Intuitive

One of the keys to profitability is to not involve yourself in more actions or relationships that are likely to not be profitable.

This is often counter intuitive, because people feel or believe they should “do more” and “try harder” in order to gain more.

But often a key to profitability is to reduce the number of actions and obligations you are involved with that do not produce your desired outcomes.

Reducing your exposures to liabilities is often more important than involving yourself in more activities.

Wealth

You may only be as wealthy as the poorest person in your community.

You increase your wealth when you make your community more wealthy.

Improve the arts, education, pleasantries, justice, and health of your community.

What have you done to improve the wealth of your community today?

Company

Pursue the company of people you would like to be more like.
