K I may have a few tips, this is just what I’ve read and decided for myself, so don’t take it as the gospel :P
1. The wall doesn’t help much at all. It helps you feel upside down and get strength I guess, but it won’t help you freestand.
If you going to use anything, use a bed and just use your shoulders (or back of your head) to balance. it teaches you to keep the rest of your body straight, and you can learn to “muscle up” that way.
2. Someone said it takes 900-1100 real attempts to finally get it, and thats about 10 seconds. So just practice whenever for as long as you can.
3. Don’t just practice handstands :P Mix it up and learn some of the other fun stuff as well. try and cartwheel (or au, in capoeira :P) and stop it at handstand level and stuff. Just get a feel for control on ure arms.
4. If your going to try and do exercise to help you, the only suggestions i’ve heard (that were logical) are:
Diamond pushups
Slow crunches (3-5 second hold)
Reverse crunches
and for later on, Side crunches, since your obliques are the only thing that can recover you from falling sideways :P
Stretch lots too. and be patient :P
5. I read lots of other stuff, but most of it was contradicted somewhere else. Like keep ure head tucked etc, but its all a question of balance. for gymnastics, you should follow good form, for fun or anything else, just do what works and the rest will follow.
Stuff like keeping ure legs perfectly straight i’ve heard, but others say learning to move ure legs in ure handstand will add soo much balance. (and bending to the side, forward back etc)
6. Learn how to bail
Something i’ve not learned very well yet, as half the time when I bail i land on my arm or something. You are sposed to find a comfortable way to leave a handstand when you are falling backwards (onto ure back) I suggest picking up one hand and twisting so you come down straight.
Plz add questions or corrections in comments and I’ll edit this :P later!

Rasmus Svendsen says: “If you practice a little every day it will be much more efficient than practicing a lot one day or some days. When you get some sleep your mind practices for you, so be a little patient and it will come slowly. That’s my best advice. I’ve been doing this practicing soccer tricks and the progress has been huge. I’ve been surprised how well it has worked.”
