Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

- The Robots.

Atlanta on a Whim!

Ok, I’ve been before. But this time, spur of the moment hopped on a MegaBus (So Cheap!) and visited a girlfriend. Went to the Modern Art Museum, then the High Museum, IKEA, went Beading, Chilled in a Hot Tub with Chocolate Tequila Coffee, and much more then back home.
Will be doing more Quick Spontaneous Trips Soon. Meeting friends in New Orleans in a couple weeks in fact. Life’s Short, Live It Fully!

LA (the california version -not lower alabama this time)

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome !!! What a great trip. Decided to splurge on a writers & illustrators conference. Connected with a room mate on-line. She was wonderful. We got along great. The conference was excellent -learned lots and met some fabulous new friends.
Some the best times were the couple of days I spent before the conference though. I truly “walked LA”, stayed downtown, saw all the cool buildings, checked out a concert, prayed on a rooftop garden, ate the best pizza I’ve tasted, spent an entire day at the Getty, and so much more … WOW!

Trip to the Dominican Republic -Completely Awesome!

Chick Time. Traveled the island up & down. A couple highlights -drinking passionfruit margaritas under the stars (no electricity so the stars were brilliant), Salsa and Merengue in the headlights, whole roasted pig at the farm, coral and beach glass at dawn, and Laughter, Laughter, Laughter!

Next Adventure

I am going to the Dominican Republic in May. I just bought the plane ticket. The trip is rather spur of the moment. I will be going with three girl friends, one has family there. I am very excited.

Going on a Cruise

I just scheduled a cruise for July 8th. It is on the Carnival Glory. It stops at Nassau, St. Thomas, & St. Maartin. I am so excited. I’ve been wanting to go on a cruise for a quite a while. I’m taking the kids -both teens. From the brochures and internet this looks like it has alot of activities & stuff that they’ll enjoy. It’s costing me a bundle so I sure hope it meets expectations. I just can’t wait!!!

Traveling with my girls

I am making a point of going some place new atleast once a year as well as traveling back to some of my favorite places again. I especially want to bring my daughters with me on some trips. I’ve always loved visiting new places, but some how it got overlooked these many years as I’ve been working, being a mom, and generally just trying to survive. I did start this goal -My two daughters and I flew up to Baltimore the last week of December and drove up to New York City. My girls had never been on a plane before. They were thrilled. I could only stay for a long weekend, but my Mom and Dad went up and took the girls around Pennsylvania to visit one of my brothers and then to DC. They stayed up there for an extra week and then flew back down to Alabama by themselves. I can’t wait to make another trip. I want to go to Chicago and San Fransisco next.
