I think after having this on here a few months & getting the key pieces sorted (2x new boots, more warm tops, getting rid of worn out stuff etc) I can mark this off.
I’ve certainly got enough clothes & I like them all enough.
I need to mend a few things but that is another goal of mine.
I’m saving for future studies so I don’t need to spend money randomly on clothing, nor is there anything I really need.
So: Done.

Lately I’ve:
Got a new, simple but good bra
new gloves with little black bows
a hat with a black rose & lace stitched on
& a new hand bag that is lacy with similar but red rose.
I think I need new skirts. One day I will be satisfied with my wardrobe yet not frivolous. I also need to mend things so that should come first.

I’ve won an auction for a black velvety warm top which should arrive today! I need more warm tops as I always just seem to chuck on my super warm hoodie!

Well, I ventured into Wellington’s “flashest” department store & discovered they have a greater range of the brand of thermal tops I was looking at & I found one design I liked at a good price.
This will be my pilot top. If I like this one, the warmth, fit etc then I may get more.
I’m going to try it out tonight when I am going out for dinner.

Well, I have looked at thermal merino wool tops & as I have never had any before I was impressed that there are good looking ones that are made in NZ. But I am not sure that I need to spend what they are worth on one top. I don’t get that cold & I could put the money towards other things that I need more.
I recently bought a new red corset second hand which I am yet to receive but this is still exciting, I just hope it fits!
I think I need more tights, just one or two pairs. I thought that I wanted woollen ones (can you tell I am on a wool kick?) but I found out that they cost $40 a pair in the one place I have looked so far.
I want to look into fabrics & their effects on the environment. I want to wear more sustainable, ethical clothing. So I may go for the woollen tights after all rather than a synthetic alternative. I must ponder.

So… I have my boots sorted.
20 up Dr Marten’s. I really like these boots on other people. I like that they are ethically produced & will last a long time.
Also they are flat as opposed to the ridiculously fun & sharp pointiness of my other boots. I can wear them to work easily without having to think about how much time I will spend on my feet during the day but more after work.
I looked at thermals. Mmm merino wool – Made in New Zealand!!
Will be getting some very soon.

The saga of the winter coat. Well I finally sewed on the missing buttons… well ones that kinda look like the originals… & I sewed on an old ornate belt buckle with some ribbons tied onto the back! Look better. I am not sure that I love the cut of the coat but I understand it needs some room for all the other layers under it! I am just too into clothing which fits to ones shape better.
So now I just need some warm thermal tops & SENSIBLE boots.
The boots I ordered earlier for this are not all that practical!

There is something about browsing ‘round webpages of people in Europe that I find really inspiring. I want to take that inspiration & apply it to myself, down here in little New Zealand.
So I have purchased one second hand skirt off of Trade Me (NZ ebay) which I need as I have been noticing that I have not enough warm skirts.
I always battle between coveting clothes for aesthetic reasons & thinking of practicality & need for ascetic reasons. It is a delicate battle.

I have been holding back marking this off until I have mended & adjusted things & also until I had bought a Winter Coat.
Now I am reconsidering my priorities & I am not sure that I actually require a new coat but perhaps I need to revamp the one that I have currently.
I think I can sucessfully customise the current one to make it more like the one that I was coveting. It will also free up money for “more important” things. I think I am verging on an epiphany.

I have three band t-shirts on their way to me…
*BURZUM – When Night Falls T-shirt
*Arcturus – Aspera T-shirt with olde logo!
& Belverk is gifting me a new Moonspell t-shirt.
Might have to sew these small when they arrive but they are welcome additions to my wardrobe & a further expression of my passion for music!
