train my dogs

Dog training is hard for me because I have to be consistent and I can’t seem to find the right time to put it in a day. I’ve been surviving with a bark collar on Frank. He barks at everyone who walks by the house and if they’re walking a dog, which most are, he’s obnoxious. Pete, I put a shock collar on to keep him from eating EVERYTHING. I don’t have to use it because when it’s on and I say “out of the kitchen” he’s out of the kitchen. Those are their worst habits. I guess I just hope on day they’ll catch on and these bad habits will disappear.

going to be a disaster at this. I’ve needed a new bark collar battery for a couple of months and we’re getting new furniture so I have to teach the dogs not to go on the couch. I have information and the tools, I think though, that this is such a big goal that I procrastinate it because – I don’t know – I don’t think I can do. The dogs walk all over me.

I have no idea why I procrastinate this. Today Frankie can wear his bark collar. He barked all day yesterday and annoyed everyone IN the house. He usually just annoys those outside. He doesn’t bark when he wears the collar which is nice but he knows the difference of having it on or not.

Had to put the bark collar back on Frankie. He barks at anything that moves and sometimes thin air. His bark is peircing. I didn’t hear him too much yesterday. That’s good because he scared the neighbors all summer – some even think he’s vicious which he’s not – just obnoxious. When he starts to bark he gets Pete my black lab going too. It’s all too loud in the house.

I have two very bad dogs. I had every intention on working with them and making them very well behaved dogs but I admit I failed. I’ve tried several different methods and I have a wonderful DVD on the subject. I have a training collar and a bark collar. I’m just not very consistent. I know that about myself and when it comes to dogs (just like children) consistency is the key. I need to figure out how to get more consistent.kt
