become a better photographer

I intend on taking more pics for the inlaws. They live very far and I know how happy it would make them. This will help motivate me (mostly remember) to take the camera with me where I go. I’ve started and I’m so happy about what I have on the card.

It’s been along time since I’ve purchased the school photos of my children. They’re horrible and expensive. My kids always promise to let me take their pictures at home if they don’t have to get it done at school. I know my digital camera takes portrait style pics. I’m going to do this and I’d love advice and tips before I do.

Again they looked better on the camera than printed. The software all boggles my mind. What I print is never very good. I have a Kodak camera with a HP printer. I never know what software to work off of. I have Adobe photo shop. Where should I transfer my pics so when I print them they look as good as they do on screen?kt I’m frustrated.

I haven’t been spending much time taking pictures but I did figure out how to maKe a DVD picture video. I’m really excited about it so at the moment I’m working with my software. I’ve also been reading Complete Digital Photography by Ben Long but I guess I should have got Digital Photography for Dummies.

For me part of becoming a better photographer means learning the software that goes with my camera and photo printer. I did make a disc for my relatives of our summer vacation that came out beautiful. I take 90% of the photos, so everyone is thrilled. That I know was only a small step. I guess I have to figure out the best way to print my pics because my printer is HP and my camera is by Kodak and I have problems with the way the colors print out. I dump my pics onto Kodak software and I always have to transfer to HP software for the pics to look decent when printed. After the holidays I’ll work harder at understanding all my options.

This goal has been on hold while I’ve been working on others. Funny though I just got a cell phone with a camera (yes my first even though my daughter says they don’t even make cell phones without cameras anymore, hehe). So I do want a picture of each person on my contact list so I can see their faces when they call me, because hey, I love them. kt

I can’t believe I had forgotten about this goal. I will send the photos online by the end of this week. It’s one of those things you keep telling yourself you’ll do it tomorrow and then never do. kt

Don’t know where to start. It’s nice to know I’m not the only person who feels overwhelmed. I’m using a digital camera. I’ve been printing my own photos but not always with the best of luck. I’m going to try sending them online to be developed and see if I have better luck. I have beautiful pictures from our summer vacation so my first goal will be to figure out how and to send them out this week.
