I left a bunch of handwritten notes around today.
- The first, which I tacked up in the post office, had an apple with KALLISTI on it and the caption ‘for the fairest’ (it’s a discordian thing).
- The second I left on the sidewalk held down by three stones, and one one side it had ‘I know a place where the wild thyme blows’ etc., and on the other side (the side facing up on the sidewalk) it said in Futhark runes, “OBERON WAS HERE LOL”.
The others, I think four of them, were left in library books:
- Two had Harold Monro’s poem Overheard on a Salmarsh (I left one in a novel and one in a cookbook),
- One was written as if a human had been having a written conversation with a fairy (the fusion fairy, who makes the sun shine – I left it in a mystery novel),
- And the fourth had the Dr. Seuss quote “Adults are obsolete children, and the hell with them.” (I left it in a book on female sexuality.)

I left some notes in library books. Not EXACTLY a glamourbomb, but it’s a start.
My favorite was probably the little piece of cardstock that I stuck in a travel guide to France. It said on one side “Have a NICE day. Get it? NICE? Ahahaha” (because of Nice, France) and on the other side “I’m such a CARD. Hahahaha.”
It was dumb but it made me giggle.
Another had the first few sentances of the Wikipedia article on books, and the third had a bunch of synonyms for bibliophile.
Oh, and I made a bookmark. I designed it based on the cover of Feet of Clay by Terry Pratchett, and stuck it in same before returning it.
I volunteer at the library, Mondays and Fridays, so I’ll be returning tomorrow and I think I’ll make some more notes. More fairy-themed ones, so that they’re more glam. Suggestions for what they could say? I think I’ll transcribe parts of poems onto some of them. Probably Yeats’ The Stolen Child, and Harold Monro’s Overheard on a Salmarsh.
Ooh, and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream ’s ‘I know a bank where the wild thyme blows’ bit. Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in.

I want to leave little Halloween-related, calligraphy notes in public places like grocery store, post office, library. :)
